InnerCamp also monitors that local standards are met. We are following the WHO recommendations in relations to COVID-19 containment.

12.2. During our retreats, online/onsite workshops and online/onsite teacher training courses we practice Breathwork. In consideration of being permitted to participate in any related events or activities with InnerCamp (hereinafter collectively “the Activities”), you should acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following:

Pregnancy: During deep breathing, a breather experiences specific psychological changes in the body, including blood becoming more alkaline. This same blood goes through the fetus then. Pregnant women are not allowed to do Breathwork only because there haven’t been any studies on this impact on the fetus’s health. Moreover, premature contractions can be triggered in later periods of pregnancy.

Asthma: If you’re diagnosed with asthma, especially some types of Breathwork could be beneficial, but you must have an inhaler available throughout the whole session. Because asthma is a psychosomatic illness, the psyche may intensify the symptoms as it tries to ameliorate the condition. It’s not a contraindication, just a warning to always have an inhaler available with you.

Severe cardiovascular diseases and/or irregularities, including prior heart attack: Strong emotional release or physical movement can stress the cardio system. Therefore people with severe cardiovascular diseases and/or irregularities are not allowed to practice Breathwork.

Glaucoma: during a Breathwork session, a breather may stress and strain internally, which could temporarily increase intraocular pressure that would worsen glaucoma symptoms. Moreover, if the breather experiences blurred vision, this may be an undiagnosed case of glaucoma, and a person needs to examine his eyes before continuing breathwork.

High blood pressure: Strong emotional release during Breathwork can exacerbate the issues connected to high blood pressure and raise it even higher. Therefore, you will not be allowed to practice Breathwork with high blood pressure.

Detached retina: Breathing faster and deeper reduces intraocular pressure. This increases the risk of permanent vision damage for a person with a detached retina. People with detached retina are not allowed to practice Breathwork.

Psychosis: Any people that are psychotic or if they recently discharged from an addiction treatment centre shouldn’t do Breathwork, as they are not grounded enough to come back in their everyday experience. They go into their psyche and can’t return on track and anchor in reality. According to Grof (1998), an average of good physical and mental resilience is required when practicing Breathwork.

Epilepsy: There is a slightly increased chance of having a seizure during Breathwork due to faster, deeper breathing. Therefore, people with epilepsy are not allowed to practice Breathwork.

Bipolar disorder or schizophrenia (prior diagnosed): Breathwork could trigger a manic episode; that’s why those people shouldn’t participate in breathwork sessions.

Hospitalisation for any psychiatric condition or emotional crisis in the past 10 years, such as an attempted suicide or nervous breakdown: In this case, written approval by a healthcare professional is needed before practicing Breathwork.

PTSD in severe cases: Many breathers have experienced profound healing experiences regarding PTSD. In severe cases, written approval by a healthcare professional is needed to ensure a person is grounded enough to handle what might come up during the session, including possibly reliving the experience which caused the PTSD to release it out of the system. The greatest danger in severe psychiatric conditions is that Breathwork can bring up memories that the person is not ready to face yet and this can cause retraumatization.

Osteoporosis; Recent hospitalisation; Severe bone and joint problems; Recent injury or surgery: In altered states of consciousness during Breathwork, a person can start moving uncontrollably and hurt themselves if they are facing the issues stated above. Therefore, people in these cases are not allowed to practise Breathwork.

History of strokes and seizures: The amount of oxygen that enters the body is altered which may result in a seizure. Before attempting any Breathwork activities, be sure to talk about how they can affect your condition.

Family history of aneurisms: Blood circulation and the amount of oxygen in the body are both impacted by Breathwork. Those who are susceptible to aneurysms may be affected differently from those who are not. Be sure to discuss with your doctor whether or not Breathwork is a concern for you.

Hypoglycaemia and Diabetes: Caution is needed when practising Breathwork due to changing oxgyen and carbondioxide levels in the blood.

Severe infections and unwanted complications: A doctor’s approval is needed to avoid any unforeseeable complications when practising Breathwork.

Prescription blood thinning/anti-clotting medications such as Coumadin: Blood thinners prevent blood clots from forming. Using these medications are a contraindication for Breathwork because hyperventilation can be caused by blood clots for example a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolus.

Consumption of drugs or psychedelics; consumption of alcohol; fasting: People who have consumed drugs, psychedelics or alcohol in the last 24 hours are not allowed to practise any of the activities offered by InnerCamp. People in a fasting diet in the last 72 hours are also not allowed to practise any of the activities offered by InnerCamp.

You agree to comply with the stated and customary guidance and norms of participation in the Activities. If, however, you observe any unusual hazard during your presence or participation, you will immediately remove yourself from participation in the Activities and bring such to the attention of the nearest facilitator.

You know, understand and acknowledge that InnerCamp are NOT physicians, psychologists, therapists, or healthcare professionals, and the Activities being offered are NOT intended to treat or diagnose, and does NOT include treatment for or diagnosis of, any illnesses, disease or disorders, whether physical, mental, psychological or emotional.

You fully understand and acknowledge that if you were not in such good health, you would not be permitted to partake in the Activities.

13. Special requests and medical problems

If you have any special requests or dietary requirements, you must advise us at the time of the reservation. We cannot guarantee that these will be accommodated, it is suggested that any requirements be highlighted upon reservation date. Although we will endeavor to meet any such requests we regret we cannot guarantee to do so.

It is your responsibility to notify InnerCamp of any relevant and / or existing medical conditions before booking that may make you unsuitable to participate and/or impact on your participation in the booked product/service.

Breathwork and other techniques we use can result in intense physical and emotional release. Therefore, you are not allowed to practise Breathwork if you have epilepsy, detached retina, glaucoma, uncontrolled high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases (including prior heart attack), mental disorders (manic disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), paranoia, psychotic episodes, depersonalization, etc.), strokes, TIA´s, seizures or other brain/neurological conditions, a history of aneurysms in the immediate family, use of prescription blood thinners, hospitalized for any psychiatric condition or emotional crisis within the past 10 years, osteoporosis or physical injuries that are not fully healed, acute somatic and viral diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD-II and COPD-III), chronic diseases with symptoms of decompensation or terminal illness, individual intolerance of oxygen insufficiency, cancer and Low Impulse Control.

Pregnant women are also not allowed to practise Breathwork and some of our techniques without first consulting and getting approval from their primary care physician.

People with asthma should bring their inhalers and consult with their primary care physician and the facilitator.

24. Requirements for the Certification as Facilitator or Therapist

24.1. All Students must have at least 80% attendance rate in the live sessions while all live sessions of Levels 2 and 3 are mandatory.

24.2. All Students facilitating sessions are mandatory in terms of presence and students must facilitate Breathwork, Tantra or Bodywork to another person during the live sessions as a part of the training. Students are allowed to miss one of these sessions only under special circumstances that prevent them to be present in the live session (such as an illness or death in the family etc.)  with the written approval from InnerCamp and after presenting the proof of the special circumstance/condition. In this situation, Art. 3 – Additional Fees will apply.

24.3.  All Students must complete the course 100% on the eLearning platform to get certified.

24.4. All the assignments, quizzes, exercises, etc. are mandatory requirements for the certification. All the assignments, quizzes, exercises, etc. must be all approved by the InnerCamp teachers.

24.5. All Students should finish the training at the end date of the program as it’s mentioned on the course page and brochure/guidebook. As a gesture of kindness, InnerCamp offers a 3 (three) months window after the course officially ends, for the Students to complete the program on the eLearning platform and send the remaining assignments/requirements. The 3 (three) months window starts from the exact end date of the program as it’s mentioned on the course page or brochure/guidebook. After the expiration of this deadline, the Students can no longer get certified if the requirements of the program were not submitted on time.

24.6. The certificate/diploma will only be issued by InnerCamp after the above requirements are checked and confirmed by the Department of Certifications.

24.7. In the case of the Level 3 programs – the Coach Training, Students presence in an onsite event (retreat) is required and mandatory for the certification. The onsite retreat must  be dedicated to the discipline of the program/training. E.g. Breathwork Level 3 Students will attend a Breathwork retreat. This requirement doesn’t apply to Level 1 and 2 Students.

24.8. InnerCamp reserves the right not to certify Students who don’t respect the InnerCamp Code of Ethics and our Terms of Service regardless of their progress or participation in the training. At InnerCamp, we believe in professionalism & core values and, as we prepare future facilitators and coaches, we ask for the same sense of responsibility and ethics from our Students.

24.9. We take the certification of facilitators very seriously and, as such, take extra measures to ensure that those we certify are ready to practice safely and ethically. In addition to completing mandatory online lessons, quizzes, and assignments, we will personally evaluate each student to determine if they are qualified to become a facilitator. We guarantee that those we certify are competent to make decisions and take actions that will not harm other people.

When evaluating a student’s readiness to become a certified facilitator, it is important to assess their ability to demonstrate five core skills. The student will be observed in a simulated session to assess their capacity to practice empathy, communicate effectively, set and maintain boundaries, practice self-care, and maintain professional standards. If the student is able to demonstrate these skills, then they should be certified and deemed ready to become a facilitator.
